MTBI is a charity aimed at supporting autistic young people in Leicestershire. Many autistic children and young people have experienced having to leave a paid activity as they have found it overwhelming. Miracles wants to give the autistic child or young person the chance to try new activities without worrying they will waste money.
We also provide small grants to educational facilities wishing to purchase equipment or actvities to support autistic children and young people.
Most of our events are free to the autistic person, their siblings, and parent/carer. There can occasionally be a voluntary cost if the participant and family wish to do extras at the activity. An example is a pottery painting session where a parent may also wish to paint an item. In that scenario the parent would pay the venue directly for the additional item and not MTBI.
You can donate or fundraise for MTBI by visiting our website and clicking on the 'Donate' button. This links to our account on JustGiving where donations can be made. Or alternatively through this link https://www.justgiving.com/miraclestobelievein
We provide outings and events for autistic children and young people up to and including the age of 35 who live in Leicestershire. You do not need to have a formal diagnosis. activities are open to those on the pathway to diagnosis too.
We advertise our events through our Facebook group Miracles to Believe In. Events that are jointly organised with the Leicestershire Autistic Society will also be advertised by them.
Our Facebook group can be found here https://www.facebook.com/groups/152970748087583/
You can get in contact with the charity's secretary via email (heubecks@googlemail.com) explaining your funding request. We will email you back to let you know if it is something that is likely to meet the remit for our charity. If it is, we will send you a form to complete which will be looked at by the committee during our next scheduled meeting. We will then inform you of the outcome.
